Our Lovely Ladies From The Start: Catch up with Sarah

This week we are catching up with Sarah, one of The Able Labels earliest and most loyal customers.

We first met Sarah at the beginning of our brand journey and have been lucky enough to keep in touch ever since. Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sarah has discovered adaptive clothing as a way to relieve the stress of dressing, whilst keeping her own beautiful style and independence.

Hi Sarah!

Firstly, how have you been?

At the moment I am well, I had a change of medication and only have 2 swollen joints at the moment. I found the lockdown very hard as I was shielding. I had a bad flare up (arthritis) at the beginning of lockdown and only settled down after a change in meds which took about 11months.

I missed my weekly time with the grandchildren. I did however find drawing very relaxing which I had not done for a long time!

Have any other aspects of your life changed since we saw you back in 2016?

Since meeting you in 2016 I have changed jobs, I now work for a charity which supports vulnerable adults and children.

Such a valuable job you are doing!

Has your style changed or adapted in any way & what is your go-to item?

I don't think my style has changed, although the long flare up had me finding clothes that were easier to put on and take off.

My favourite item of clothing is my navy blue poncho as I can easily put it on when family or friends visit. It's too cold to be in the garden without the extra layer!

How do you find adaptive clothing can be helpful to you?

At the moment I have restricted use of one shoulder and elbow, so having clothes that I do not have to button up make dressing so much less painful.

What would you like to see more of in adaptive fashion ranges?

Maybe a special occasion outfit/something a little more formal, like The Charlotte long sleeved shirt with VELCRO® Brand Fastening / Fasteners which I would put on with a blue trouser suit for a wedding I am going to.
