Our tips for dressing those you care for
Traditional overhead dressing can not only be time consuming and uncomfortable, mentally it can be both stressful and upsetting for the person you are assisting.
- We’d suggest opting for fully front opening options to provide a perfect solution. The person being dressed can then see everything which is going on and this can help to prevent anxiety.
- For night-time dressing, nightshirts and nightdresses avoid the struggle of trousers and provide easy movement, these simple changes will make getting ready for bed that bit more relaxing.
- Sleeveless and loose fitting styles can make getting changed into much easier, especially for the role of a carer. Relaxed fitting clothing can help the person you are caring for, feel comfortable all day as there's no physical restrictions.
